Hi, Jan here,

If you're looking for advice, guidance, or inspiration on being single, facing change, be that divorce, bereavement or loss. If ladies that big change is upon you and you think your going mad you're in the right place! This website is all about change, in what ever shape it appears.

Here, I share what worked for me and the things I found helpful when I was first single looking to meet new people and create a life that truly fulfilled me.

It's a bit like being on an aeroplane when they say, put your own mask on first. If your cup is empty, you have nothing to pour from!

I split with my husband in November 2020, right at the beginning of lockdown two, boy, was that a difficult time. To be honest, it was the first time I had ever lived alone, at the age of 55! I spent three years single, with dates and disappointments scattered throughout.

In February 2023, I set up a business called Singles Socials to help others get out and meet people in the real world. I later trained & qualified as a Personal Matchmaker, so I know a thing or two about being single and dating!

Before you dip your toes into the murky waters of dating, here’s the most important piece of advice I can offer: don’t date until you’re ready. Fill your own life first. Be awesome as a single person, and dating will become far less stressful and dare I say it, even fun!

On the website, you’ll find advice I truly hope will be useful, including links to other resources and lots more on how to rebuild your life and enjoy being single or handling change on your terms and in your own way.

Nervous about going out into the world solo? Check out my article on that very topic, along with my confidence course.

Hi, Jan here....

Books I personally recommend

We often spend money without a second thought on new clothes, makeup, or getting our nails done, but what about investing in our inner selves? Isn’t that just as important? A little time and money spent on personal growth can make a big difference.

Here are some of my favourite books on self-development and personal growth. I love learning about how the mind and body work, and these reads have truly inspired me.
